Management VS. Leadership: WAIT, there is a difference?

Management VS. Leadership- is there a difference??? Well I am sure glad you showed up and asked. #REALTALK

When I think of management, I think of a well-dressed bald guy sitting in a corner office with a secretary named PAM outside, fielding his calls for no one other than a. contacts he wants to talk to, b. his wife, c. his golf buddies (JK, but not really.) Now, when I think of a leader, I envision someone kind, warm hearted, genuine, and ready to join a team and work for the good of whatever goal at hand whatever it takes. See the difference?

In today’s societal norms management and leadership are #SUPPOSED to be the same thing in many companies, but often times they are not...

Take a quick peek at the official definition differences between management and leadership below:

Management: The process of dealing with or controlling things or people.

Leadership: The action of leading a group of people or an organization.

If you cannot see the difference between management and leadership: read the definitions again.

When I envision someone I want in charge of me #BOSS, I think of a leader, NOT someone who deals with me or controls me.

Being the leader your team deserves helps to not only increase your workplace morale, but also gives YOU the work environment you deserve.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Hoping is not a strategy and if you want happy employees or happy coworkers, the change starts with you if you are in a management role.

Now a manager can be a leader, and a leader can be a manager, but they are complimentary: NOT either OR in a productive and positive, culture friendly work environment! #BOOM
